Get Moving!
with Girl Scouts of the USA and Trane

A Girl Scout journey that gives girls the skills to be energy leaders in their buildings, communities and lives
A New National Energy Awareness and Conservation Program
Girl Scouts of the USA and Trane are teaming up to introduce a new national energy awareness and conservation program for buildings, as part of an upcoming leadership journey for Girl Scout Juniors (fourth- and fifth-graders). The program teaches young girls about energy conservation, while helping them discover opportunities for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Here’s a sampling of activities girls may participate in during their journey:

  • Understand forms of energy
  • Learn techniques for conserving energy
  • Perform simple building energy audits, analyze the results and present their findings and possible solutions
  • Learn about energy related careers

As the journey helps young girls learn about energy conservation, it also inspires them to be leaders who use energy resources more wisely—and take action to educate and inspire others to do the same.

At Trane, we are proud to play a part in helping the young people of today become the leaders of tomorrow.

Sixty percent of all energy use involves public buildings such as the schools and community centers where Girl Scouts meet.
