Energy Efficiency
Tax Credit : Trane Residential
Trane is happy to reintroduce tax credits for high efficiency HVAC equipment for the 2009 calendar year as part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act. It’s important to have energy efficient systems.
The maximum tax credit amount is $500 and is effective for products installed from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009.
To claim the tax credit when filing 2009 taxes, homeowners will need a manufacturer certificate stating that the system or product they purchased qualifies. These certificates will be available on Trane.com.
The following types of systems qualify for the tax credit:
Split System Air Conditioning Systems - $300
SEER: 15.0 or higher
Packaged Air Conditioning Systems - $300
SEER: 14.0 or higher
Gas and Oil Furnaces - $150
AFUE: 95% or greater
Advanced Main Circulating Fans in Gas or Oil Furnaces - $50
The fan can use no more than 2% of the total furnace energy use.
