Coming in May (Q2)

ASHRAE Guideline 36 provides uniform sequences of operation for HVAC systems that are intended to maximize the systems' energy efficiency and performance, provide control stability, and allow for real-time fault detection and diagnostics. This presentation covers updates to the guideline, concentrates on hydronic and airside systems, and methods to deliver control systems using the guidance provided.

Coming in September (Q3)

The use of electrified heating solutions has moved to the forefront of hydronic heating design and can be daunting to many design engineers‒specifically in the retrofit market. Eighty percent of buildings that will be operational in 2050 have already been built and the approach to electrified heating systems varies from building to building. In this program we will discuss a variety of concepts to successfully enable electrification in the retrofit market.

Coming in November (Q4)

This program will provide an introduction to a variety of heat pump configurations‒ from traditional heat pumps to dual fuel heat pumps‒available to support electrification and decarbonization initiatives. Review of  heat pump terminology and proper sizing of heat pumps based on ASHRAE climate zones will be discussed. We will also cover selection of auxiliary heat, CO₂ emission reduction, and energy consumption as compared to traditional gas/electric and electric/electric rooftop units.
