Oil Furnace Troubleshooting
Why is the air flow from my oil furnace so low?
- The air filters may be clogged
Clean or replace the filters. You can use the owner’s manual to find where the air filters are located. - The air ducts could be blocked
You will need to contact your local Trane Comfort Specialist™ to inspect and clean the ductwork.
Why is my oil furnace not heating properly?
- The thermostat may not be calibrated properly or has been set too low
Set your thermostat to the desirable temperature. If this does not change the heat output, contact your local Trane Comfort Specialist™. - The air and oil filters could be clogged
Clean or replace the filters. You can use the owner’s manual to find where the air and oil filters are located. - The blower assembly is clogged with dirt
If you determine this to be the cause, you will need a Trane Comfort Specialist™ to clean the assembly.
Why is my oil furnace so noisy?
A noisy furnace could be cause by a loose access panel or an unlubricated belt. If your furnace is making more noise than usual, take note of when it occurs and the sound it makes. Then, contact your local Trane Comfort Specialist™ with the details.
