VariTrane® Dual Duct Terminal Units
VariTrane® variable-air-volume (VAV) units lead the industry
in quality and reliability and are designed to meet the specific needs
of today’s applications. Control comfort, indoor air quality (IAQ),
noise levels, and energy consumption with the VariTrane dual duct
terminal units. An optional factory commissioned open protocol BACnet
unit controller eliminates the need for separate controllers, one for
the heating flow air damper and one for the cooling flow air damper.
VariTrane dual duct terminal units are universally handed and
optionally equipped with factory mounted and commissioned unit
controllers, which reduce installation effort and startup time.
Dual-duct terminal units are used in a special type of air
distribution system where the main system has both warm air and cold
air separately ducted to each terminal unit. The flow of both warm air
and cool air is modulated, delivering air to the VAV zone at variable
air volumes as well as variable temperatures. Since full capacity
occupied heating is always available, control of additional local heat
is not provided.
