VariTrane® VAV Parallel Fan Powered Terminal Units

VariTrane® VAV Parallel Fan-Powered Terminal Units are designed to work with all Trane airside systems, but improved for heat pump and heat recovery chillers and other electrified heating systems that use hot water. These tested and proven VAV units may help with decarbonization goals.

The fan in VariTrane VAV units only runs when heat is needed, helping with energy savings. And the optional factory-installed integral suppressor attenuator helps offer quieter operations, helping to provide a more efficient option for commercial buildings.

Key Benefits:

  • Market-leading optional factory-installed integral suppressor attenuator helps meet the acoustical requirements for any job
  • Electronically commutated motor with variable fan control (ECV) offers reduced part load acoustics plus tight temperature control and airflow
  • 1.8 pounds per cubic foot (PCF) density standard insulation provides a barrier against fan noise
  • Airflow ranging up to 2,300 CFM

Energy Efficiency

The most energy-efficient fan is one that is off. Our Parallel Fan-Powered Terminal Unit utilizes an intermittent fan, calling for power to the fan only when necessary. VariTrane VAV units offer higher energy efficiency than other designs.

Pre-programmed Control Sequences

Critical functions are programmed before delivery, including trim and respond, ventilation, duct pressure and more.

In-factory Controls Commissioning

Seamless communication within the overall system with minimal effort at the job site.

Ultraquiet

Enhanced ECM fan has a quiet “soft ramp,” providing additional acoustical benefits.

Tested for Reliability

Extensive factory testing assures pre-programmed sequences, communication connectivity and other critical settings are working properly before your unit ships. This effort reduces the need for installation-day troubleshooting.

  • Up to 2-row hot water coil maintains heating capacity with lower hot water temperatures from electrified heating systems. (A plus for meeting decarbonization goals)
  • Optional factory-installed integral suppressor attenuator provides market-leading acoustical performance.
  • Standard 1.8 PCF density insulation provides an acoustical barrier against fan noise.
  • ECM with variable fan airflow control (ECV) helps to offer tight temperature control, reduced operational cost and reduced part load acoustics.
  • Air-Fi® Wireless Communication helps eliminate wiring costs and helps reduce startup/commissioning time.

Building Systems Upgrades

Technology continues to evolve - as do cyber-security defenses, and IT compatibility requirements, and customers’ productivity expectations.  Trane, as a leading BAS Controls provider, remains current with latest technology trends by innovating to deliver our customers secure, compatible, and feature-rich systems. By the time a typical building is a few years old, its systems are already falling behind. Trane can maintain a high performing building by keeping building automation, HVAC, lighting and central plants up to date with the latest BAS innovations.
