Trane to Share Insights with PTC Live Service Exchange Attendees on Benefits of Embracing Smart, Connected World Strategies  

 

Boston, June 12, 2014 – As the number of smart and connected electronic devices begins to surpass the planet’s population, successful companies need to understand how these products can create value in entirely new ways.  An expert from Trane will demonstrate to attendees at the upcoming PTC Live Service Exchange conference, held June 16-17 in Boston, the challenges and benefits of transforming a manufacturing business for a smart, connected world. Dane Taival, vice president of service and customer care for Trane – North America, will take part in two presentations. First, as part of the keynote address presentation by PTC president and chief executive officer, James E. Heppelmann, on why manufacturers must understand how the connected word impacts strategy and competitiveness, Taival will share his experiences to date – including the benefits and challenges – of transforming to a more connected world.

In his second presentation, Taival will discuss how Trane has evolved their service value chain and implemented smart service strategy enabling the creation of real time value for customers and sustaining a competitive advantage.

Attendees will also learn helpful strategies for service leaders in the midst of service transformation including how to:

  • increase data-driven decision-making to differentiate in the marketplace
  • use service lifecycle management technology and innovation to create competitive advantage; and
  • analyze outcomes through real-time metrics to drive and sustain performance improvements.

About Dane Taival
Dane Taival, vice president of service and customer care for Trane – North America, has been with Trane for 21 years and handles asset management, high performance building services, rental services, remote services and the customer care organization. He is responsible for leading innovation-driven growth for the Trane Building Services business and creating a global customer care organization.

Prior to his current role, Taival served as vice president of service, supply and contracting for the Trane brand of Ingersoll Rand in North America. In this role he was responsible for delivering a full portfolio of building services, HVAC supplies and modernization and energy solutions to end user customers and their agents through multiple channels to market.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin. Taival is a registered professional engineer and certified energy manager.
