Trane Wins Top Project and Product Awards from Environment + Energy Leader
E+E Leader honors Trane with three awards for 2025 Top Project and Products.
Published: April 02, 2025
Trane is proud to once again be recognized with awards from Environment+Energy Leader. The E+E Leader Product & Project Awards is an annual program recognizing excellence in products and services that provide companies with energy and environmental benefits, or in projects implemented by companies that improved environmental or energy management outcomes and increased the bottom line.
“Every year, our judges look to recognize the businesses that are truly moving the needle and striving for sustainability and operational efficiency,” says Kay Harrison, VP and head of the E+E Leader Awards program. “This year’s winners exemplify the kind of forward-thinking strategies and technologies that companies need to stay ahead in an increasingly complex energy and environmental landscape.”
E+E Leader 2025 Top Project in Energy Innovation: Trane
For the second consecutive year, Trane’s comprehensive approach to helping customers reduce greenhouse gas emissions and electrify their operations has been recognized with the E+E Leader Top Project Award for our decarbonization program with EnerSys. In 2024, Trane received the Environment+Energy Leader Top Project Award for our decarbonization program with the State of New Mexico. These collaborations highlight how strategic partnerships can drive significant environmental and operational benefits.
EnerSys is an industry-leading battery manufacturer with a broad global manufacturing footprint, who plays an important role in the climate transition. With a mission to lead its sector toward a net zero carbon future and plans to achieve Scope 1 carbon neutrality—elimination of direct fossil use—by 2040.
Through an extensive evaluation, Trane helped design a decarbonization roadmap to provide EnerSys with a glide path to achieve its 2040 ambition. The program began with a comprehensive automation and controls upgrade at EnerSys’s Warrensburg, Missouri plant, resulting in over 1,900 mtCO2e operational emissions reduction and approximately $250,000 in annual energy savings. Future projects include upgrades at facilities in Kentucky and Pennsylvania, as well as efficiency and electrification improvements across several other sites.
E+E Leader 2025 Top Product in Business & Infrastructure: Trane® Thermafit® Air-Source Modular Multi-Pipe Unit Model MAS
The Trane® Thermafit® Air-Source Modular Multi-Pipe Unit Model MAS is the all-in-one, air-source heating & cooling unit that produces cooling in the summer, heating in the winter, or simultaneous heating and cooling when both are required. It responds to varying building loads throughout the day and year, resulting in performance that is 8.2 times more energy efficient than other forms of electric heating, offering superior part load efficiency with 5% to 17% turndown capability. Unlike many electric heating solutions, the Model MAS delivers lab-verified, reliable performance even in extreme conditions. By providing exceptional performance, remarkable flexibility, and industry-leading efficiency in an all-electric unit, it represents a significant step forward in building climate technology.
E+E Leader Top Product in Software & Cloud: Trane® Autonomous Control Powered by BrainBox AI®
Trane® Autonomous Control, powered by BrainBox AI®, is an AI-driven service that is designed to ehance efficiency and sustainability of commercial buildings. Operating 24/7 without human intervention, the system integrates seamlessly with Trane’s Tracer® SC+ controls, requiring no additional hardware, and can reduce HVAC energy costs by up to 25%, cut carbon emissions by up to 40%, and improve occupant comfort by up to 60%, while extending equipment service life by up to 50%. Its scalability allows it to support a wide range of building types, and its real-time data analysis and visualization tools help facility managers trust and understand the AI-driven adjustments, making it a strategic asset for businesses seeking efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental responsibility.
A Commitment to a Sustainable Future
These awards are a testament to Trane’s dedication to driving innovation in climate technology and helping our customers achieve their goals. As we continue to lead the way in environmental stewardship and energy efficiency, we remain committed to delivering projects and products that not only meet the needs of today but also pave the way for a sustainable future.
